21 April 2011 - A consortium of insurers HUK-Coburg, HDI Direkt and WGV has agreed to take a majority stake in insurance comparison portal Aspect Online from founder and chief supervisor Stephan Gabriel, Financial Times Deutschland reported today.
The companies disclosed neither the exact size of the stake acquired by each insurer nor the purchase price.

HUK-Coburg has planned to buy an online comparison portal as a counterbalance to Munich-based Check24. HUK-Coburg and its direct provider HUK 24 have not been represented on Check24 since 2010.
