Vic: Unemployment to rise: Gillard

Deputy Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD says higher unemployment is inevitable .. but we'll
have to wait for the government's job forecasts.

Ms GILLARD says she won't comment on the revised data .. saying it will be released
in a matter of weeks in the May budget.

It comes after the International Monetary Fund predicted yesterday the economy will
shrink by 1.4 per cent this year and unemployment will rise from 5.7 per cent to 7.8 per
cent next year.
