Qld: Qld holiday road toll climbs to seven

Queensland's holiday road toll climbed to seven today after separate accidents in the
state's southeast.

In the latest crash, a truckie died after his semi-trailer left the Bruce Highway,
rolled and burst into flames at Kybong, near Gympie, just before 12.30pm (AEST).

Gympie police sergeant LIONEL LEE says the highway was blocked in both directions for
three hours after the accident.

About 90 minutes earlier, a man in his thirties died in a road crash near Gatton.

Toowoomba police say the smash between a car and a truck happened just before 11am
(AEST) on the Gatton bypass, about 100km west of Brisbane.

The man was an occupant in the car.

Police say visibility in the area was poor because of fog.
